Isostatic Presses
Isostatic Presses use a pressure vessel chamber to compact a powder or material placed in a sealed tooling, bag or other container. The Isostatic presses can be a Cold isostatic press (CIP) using an oil-water mixture pressurized fluid up to 100,000 psi (7,000 bar). Hot Isostatic Presses (HIP) use an argon atmosphere or other gas mixtures heated up to 2100º C (3800º F) and pressurized up to 60,000 psi. Warm Isostatic Presses (WIP) use an oil-water mixture that is heated up to 650º C (1200º F) and pressurized up to 100,000 psi.
EPSI has manufactured isostatic presses in hundreds of numerous configured diameters, void lengths and operating pressures. We have supplied CIP, HIP, WIP and systems specialty vessels as long as 14.3 meters (47’) long and vessel diameters as large as 1930 mm (76”).
